St.Joan of Arc will be offering an after-school math/science enrichment program for 4th and 5th grade students who are talented, interested, and motivated in science and mathematics.
This year the program will focus on STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) topics and be inquiry based and problem centered. Topics relate to the students’ lives, thereby arousing their curiosity and increasing their motivation to learn mathematics and science.
This year’s STEM teacher will be Mrs. Heather Kroupa, a current St. Joan of Arc parent. Mrs. Kroupa has a Bachelors of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Illinois and a Masters in Teaching from North Park University. She has taught high school science and tutors students in math and science. She is excited to increase the STEM students’ passion for science.
