Physical Education

The goal of physical education class is to build the students' knowledge, skills, and confidence to enjoy a lifetime of physical activities. Elementary students will learn to make connections between activity and a healthy body. Kindergarten, first grade, and second grade classes emphasize developing fundamental motor skills, cooperation, and teamwork. Third through fifth grade classes focus on developing more mature locomotor patterns and combinations, playing lead-up sports, dance, promoting sportsmanship throughout play and participate in the Fitnessgram assessment to help gain a better understanding of their own health-related fitness.
