Parent & School Organization (PSO)

The purpose of the Parent & School Organization (PSO) is to enhance the school experience for the students of St. Joan of Arc School by serving and supporting the administration, faculty and school families. The St. Joan of Arc PSO is a volunteer organization.  All SJA parents, faculty and staff are members of the PSO and are encouraged to participate.

Executive Board

Karen Southwick-President
Karen attended 8th grade at SJA, and returned to the SJA family when her daughter Mary Elizabeth started kindergarten. Mary Elizabeth is now in 5th grade.  SHe mas two other children attending SJA, Seamus is in 3rd grade, and Grace who is in 2nd grade. This will be her final year serving SJA as President of the PSO.

The President presides at all meetings of the PSO and its board. The president also serves as liaison between the PSO and the school principal, school board and most parent run programs.  The President also attends the School Board meetings

Maria Anderson- Vice President
Maria has been a member of the Parish since 2010.  She has a daughter, Lilly in 5th grade and a son Griffin, who is in second grade this year.  She will be on the Board until 2019.

The Vice-President presides at PSO meetings in the absence of the President.  The Vice-President also helps to coordinate new programs, social or service projects, and oversees  all school wide activities during Catholic Schools Week.

Stephanie Gurgone- Secretary
Stephanie has been at SJA since the 2010-11 school year, when her oldest child Connor, entered kindergarten. In addition, Mrs Gurgone has two other children attendng SJA, Charlie in fourth grade, and Claire in first grade.   She was appointed to the open position last fall and will remain as the PSO secretary until May 2019.

The Secretary records minutes of all PSO meetings and provides copies of the minutes to all board members and principal.

Gina Clinnin- Tresurer
Gina has been a part of SJA since 2013. She has two children attending St. Joan of Arc, Charlotte who is in fourth grade and Nathan who is in second grade. Her final term is ending in May 2018.

The Treasurer is responsible for maintaining the PSO general checking account.   The treasurer keeps records of all receipts and disbursements of PSO funds and an itemized accounting of fundraisers.  The treasurer prepares a monthly report of all account transactions.  The treasurer is available for providing funds to members for payment or reimbursement of approved expenses.
